With over 20 years of professional experience in California, Shawn is our Principal Licensed Workplace Investigator. Combining his education and experience, Shawn conducts workplace investigations as a neutral, impartial, and unbiased third party.  

As CEO, Shawn will partner with you to provide trusted and diplomatic guidance for the most crucial business decisions. 

 

Expertise 

Shawn provides HR leadership and effective HR solutions to numerous complex public and private sector organizations in California. His professional HR and Workplace Investigation experience includes serving in the following roles: 

 

  • District EEO & Diversity Officer. 
  • Chief HR Officer for numerous California Community Colleges. 
  • Chief Labor Contract Negotiator.  
  • HR Consultant in the public and private sectors, including a diverse array of public sector organizations such as Community Colleges, Cities, and State/Federal Governmental Agencies, and organizations ranging from micro to large – with employee numbers ranging from 20 to 5,000+. 
  • California-licensed Investigator for hundreds of workplace investigations involving employee misconduct, EEO, harassment, retaliation, and discrimination complaint investigations. 
  • Handled hundreds of employee grievances and litigated full evidentiary administrative hearings regarding disciplinary appeals, discrimination/retaliation complaints, and collective bargaining agreement (labor contract) disputes. 

Credentials

  • J.D. from UOP-McGeorge Law School.   
  • B.A. from UC Santa Barbara. 
  • California Private Investigator License (PI#26311).  
  • Certified Mediator for complex workplace disputes. 
  • And has earned a variety of HR certifications and credentials (including SPHR and IPMA-SCP).
